Seizure of Catapults

Dear residents,

We would like to inform you that PC Cartwright and PC Latter, with the assistance of plain clothes officers from Tunbridge Wells Neighbourhood Task Force, have seized a number of catapults after responding to a call in the Goudhurst area. 

The two youths stopped were not from the local area and they were found with catapults and ballbearings. Their details have been obtained and further, preventative action to be taken against them.

These items are often carried for legitimate purposes; however, when misused they can cause serious injury, criminal damage, and distress within the community.

We want to remind everyone that possessing a catapult in a public place without a lawful excuse may lead to police action. Where there are concerns about intent to cause harm or anti-social behaviour, officers will take appropriate enforcement measures, including seizure and potential prosecution.

Our priority is to keep our neighbourhood safe. We are continuing to carry out targeted patrols and will act on information provided by members of the public.
